I'm not completely convinced this is a NM issue.  I just had
this issue again earlier today where NM wouldn't notice either
my e1000 OR my atheros card..  It just didn't notice ANYTHING.
I tried restarting NM, messagebus, and haldaemon and it still
failed to find anything...

I've since upgraded to 2.6.12 and I've made sure I've got the
most recent STABLE_0_3; I'll see if I can get it to reproduce
the issue.  But something odd is still going on.  I don't understand
why I'd get a dmesg about the e1000 but NM wouldn't get an event?
Or why restarting it all would even cause the atheros not to
find anything...

Any hints for what to look for next time this happens?  tests
I can run?  I'm at a complete loss.
