Can I recommend removing the favorites .desktop file as a sort of
punting of the issue. It will not remove the actual functionality just
hide it, since it doesn't work quite as expected at least.
In the future I would be all for ditching bookmarks and using osX style
favorites, but currently it doesn't work so why not stick with what
does.
