[Nautilus-list] problems setting background

hi all

I have nautilus 1.0.4 and ximiam 1.4

I try to disable background image and setting only a simple color or a
horizontal gradient, but I can not.

I go to background propierties, disable to checkbox (use an image as
background), then choose a color and when I press Apply button nothing
hapens in the background, and the current image is maintained

Please help me, I supose that I making a mistake but I can not found it
