Hey Karsten :)

Awesome to read you!

Muelli, great to see you're still around and active. Knew you are, but
still nice to see you process the queue. :)

Foundation Previous Participation:
I've been an existing Foundation member for several years.
I haven't done any significant recent contributions, and therefore
want to apply for an Emeritus status, not a full Membership.

As the policy is
<https://live.gnome.org/MembershipCommittee/EmeritusMembers>: "Members
of the Foundation are required to have made a valuable, recent and
non-trivial contribution to the project, and should be planning to
actively contribute in the future" I am asking whether you plan to "to
actively contribute in the future".

I am the first ever to apply for Emeritus status, am I? ;) Just timing
coincidence...

While the above quote and requirements indeed are listed on the Emeritus
Members page, it is prefixed "requirements to gain a *full* membership
(or renew it)".

I don't apply for that, because currently I do not plan any substantial
contributions in the near future. Thus, I apply for Emeritus, which is
designed for folks like me. ;)

Quoting that wiki and the original announce post:

[...] you can qualify for the Emeritus Member rank if:

1. you have been a Foundation Member in the past and made a
substantial contribution over a long period of time.

Check.

2. you lost or are about to lose your Foundation membership by not
   renewing it in time.

Check.

3. you are still interested in being part of the GNOME community.

Check. Of course!

4. your contributions are not recent enough to apply for the full
   membership.

Yup, no recent-ish non-trivial contributions, and unlikely to have the
time to do so in the foreseeable future. So...

May I become an Emeritus Member, please? Pretty please, with sugar^W
ice-cream on top.
