Re: [gnome.org #2369] Application received from Naba Kumar (naba AT gnome.org)

Hi,

Sankarshan Mukhopadhyay via RT a Ãcrit :
The GNOME foundation membership committee needs more information to
process the application of Naba Kumar. Since [he/she] has listed
you as the primary contact, the committee would like you to list the
contributions that Naba Kumar has made for the GNOME community in
recent times. Your input will be greatly appreciated to help us to make
a fair and informed decision in the granting or denying the applicant as
a foundation member.

I'm working only on Anjuta (an IDE using gnome libraries) since about 2
years.

Naba is the main developer of Anjuta. He has started this project a long
time ago and a version 1.2.4 is working quite stable.

A new version has been started using a whole new set of librairies
(glade 3, gnome build, gdl, devhelp) and a more flexible architecture.
Almost all effort is concentrated on this version. One alpha version has
been released on 15 May 2006 and two beta versions have been release on
14 January 2007 and 11 February 2007.

Naba is leading this. He knows most of the code and all the history. He
makes releases and still writes a big part of the code.

He is taking care of at least two gnome libraries used by Anjuta:
- gnome-build, a library abstracting build of programs, currently
working mainly with auto tool
- gdl, a library used to provide widgets and common components for
development tools

Regards,

SÃbastien
