1.8 will be the next stable. The next unstable will be... Something exciting! 1.99? 2.9? 3.9? Who can say? I think the next next stable will probably start with a 3, just to indicate the gtk port.
Cheers,
Kai
So will 1.8 be the next stable branch? Or will 1.7 become the stable branch and 1.8 the next dev branch?-KeeganOn Tue, Sep 10, 2013 at 5:53 PM, Kai Willadsen <kai willadsen gmail com> wrote:

Or is 1.8 just around the corner that I should just wait?No one has complained about anything breaking in 1.7.5, so chances are that I'll release 1.8 this weekend, assuming I get some time.

That sounds like a good call. I'm not sure how you'd want to do that... Working within the gnome translation infrastructure would be ideal, but maybe quite a bit of hassle to integrate with a windows installed? I don't know. If we were going to try to move windows builds to meld proper, then this would be a motivating factor.
Another concern for the windows port is that the next unstable series is going to move to Gtk+ 3, and I'm not sure what the story is like for pygobject introspection on windows.
