At one time groups.io was allowing transfers for no cost. I am not sure if that is still the case. I do recall that above a certain subscriber base there were charges that applied to some groups I am a member of. Perhaps my only negative I can lodge against groups.io is that they insert a text block into the message that breaks cryptographic signed messages. Other than that the service has been fine. A lot of people do use it through its Web interface and I find its Web interface a good compromise between an email list and a Web forum. I certainly prefer it to Discourse. - Nate -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds. The pessimist fears this is true."
