By using it for which NC (it's ancestor) was made:
a file/dir manager, not a terminal.

I'm amazed at the resources and time that go into the terminal
maintenance and development, and the presence of very basic defects in
the file management functions. Not to mention that those effords and
updates don't seem to make it to some rather popular Linux distros.
