Re: UTF-8 problem with RHEL7/Fedora



Thanks for everyone's replies, its helped determine where the problem might be.  Since i'm using LXDE and no one else notices this problem, that seems more likely to be the reason.  Glad its not an mc problem.

I use on one machine CentOS 7. And the version there has no problems
with LANG="en_US.UTF-8" in the Gnome terminal.

As Adam suggested already. Maybe your terminal is not UTF aware?

If your run in the terminal

        python2 -c "print u'\u2126'"
        python3 -c "print('\u2126')"

you should see an 'Ω' (the ohm sign)
