Is it a bug or a feature that search-and-replace with regular

Cannot confirm. Works fine for me.
Why me? Why are all of my mc bugs unique to me?
The search in mcedit is by default not case sensitive (proved her
with mc 4.7.0.1).
Is this still happen for you when you use LANG=C?
To search option "case Sensitive" is not by mistake enabled? Only
to be sure.

I haven't tried a case-insensitive regex search/replace since installing
mc 4.7.0.4, as I did so only after my last bit of maintenance of my
fanfic collection (calling it a library would be too dignified), but
they seem to work for me now, at least in tests. Hopefully, all I need
now is to work out how to do a multi-line search and what mode works for
that.
