and it works for ages. And my older Debian/Woody Workstation
which had a version of 4.5.x I think was working too.
It depends on the ftp server whether it will work or not.
cd_first_then_ls is the safest choice - it was not the
default for quite some time. If you need more information
you might want ot take a look at the developers list archives.
As for you version of MC - no matter what the version string
says it is a snapshot version of MC and is newer then 4.6.1.
