Eager progress bars

When I'm shifting a number of files, especially over SMB (from Win98 to
Lin), the progress bars in mc 4.6.0 tend to reach 100% early, sometimes with
about half to go. I must admit I haven't poked my nose into the code, so I
have no pointers on where to look.

Systems: Linux 2.4.30, GCC 3.3.3, MC 4.6.0 with smbfs. Win98SE with the
'exuberant' 1.62 update pack. IIRC, the condition existed before the update.
