Yes, I am using mc-4.5.55. From your words, i understand that what i
have met is a known bug of version 4.5.55, isn't it?


It may be a bug in mc, it may be a bug in Automake used to generate
makefiles, it may be a bug in your make program that Automake could not
work around.  Frankly, I don't care.  There are more important things than
analyzing old software and deciding which software is to blame.

Another question, in Sun workstation (mine is Sparc with SunOS 5) , how
can i remove softwares i "make install" before?


Sometimes you can use "make uninstall".  It should work with GNU Midnight
Commander and other software using Automake-generated makefiles.
