Well, the ruler is set on 960px as follow:

#gnome-fog-ruler .fog-center {
  margin:0 auto;
  text-align:left;
  width:960px;
}

May be the following do the trick:

# gnome-fog-ruler .fog-center {
   margin:0 auto;
   text-align:left;
   padding-left:10px;
   padding-right:10px;
; }
