GNOME groups in USA

It's unbelievable that there are not GNOME groups in the USA. Lucky me
I'm not a US citizen, otherwise I would be ashamed for being reminded
by Europeans, Oceanians and even Asians living in Canada about this.

Alright, coordinating a nation-wide group migh be too complex but what
about articulating some activity around cities/states?

Boston had the ingredients at some point, what is the status now?

Not that there are not GNOME hackers in San Francisco Bay Area.
