I suspected as much. I think I heard there were moves to standardise on ALSA?
However does that clash for resource explain the way all X UI is
unusable when you try to kill LSR?

Can I just clarify that 'core' is everything you get out of the box
including supplied extensions? In other words non-core means *new*
user defined perks. monitors and devices which get developed in users
home as per the Gaim Tutorial? Supplied extensions are maintained as
core?
