 This is as true as saying that all Windows programs are easily available
under Linux because we have Wine. You may disagree with this but 99% of
people developing under Windows are not interested in installing glib and
glibmm just to be able to parse XML.

 I am ready to spend time on making a clean patch if it has a non
negligible chance of being applied. But not if it's just for it to sit for
a couple of more years in bugzilla.
