Re: las-gnome banner

fyi, order has been placed for 1 conference banner (2.5’ x 8’) and 1 conference sponsors banner (vertical 2.5’ x 6) and necessary accessories. Total paid including shipping is $158.67.

Estimated arrival is Sept 15 at Sri’s place!

It is all Carla really. I just provided her with inputs.

We still have another banner to print, which would cost the same or maybe a bit more for the stands. But maybe I’m thinking for both, we would spend around $200. Or a bit more shall we think we want to be safe and opt for expedited delivery which is about $24.

A 2.5’ x 8’ banner would cost $10 more. Oh and oops the prices I quoted was discounted automatically by 25%. You have to manually key in another code to get the 40% -_-

So with 40% price would actually be ~$55 not including shipping.

A 10’ feet would be a bit too much. Another less horizontal shape and has more height is 4’ x 8’ but that would cost $74 not including the accessories.

Although we budgeted $500, that doesn’t mean we have to spend more :) we can always use the savings for other expenses.

So?

Also bear in mind, a bit more work needs to be done to change to another size.

First of all, great job Adelia and Carla!  Glad we could get this!

2.5' x 6 seems fine considering we have 6' tables.  Although I'm tempted to say that a slightly larger one would be better given that we are getting a 40% discount.  (we budgeted $500 for the banner)

Out door material is fine with me.

So I think other than considering a larger size, I think all is in order.

Oh I forgot to mention two things;

1) the prices quoted below is after discount; vistaprint currently has a promo for banners 40% off which is valid until Sept 12. So we may want to put in the order before that to get some savings.

Definitely!

2) about the separate banner for the event sponsors.
I propose we use a vertical banner maybe 4’ x 2.5’, the type that we can put on a stand (look here, scroll down for example: http://www.vistaprint.com/custom-banners.aspx?txi=17104&xnid=TopNav_Banners+(linked+item)_Signs+%26+Posters&xnav=TopNav)

This way, we can easily move them anywhere like what Sri has in mind. We can even put the stand in front when the speakers are talking.
What do you all think?

I like it!  Let's do it!  How much is the cost?  Can Carla design something so that the logos are appropriate for how much they put in?

Hello!

Big thanks to Carla who helped design the banners for us! We have 2 options; with and without the Portland’s Tilikum Crossing (i.e. bridge).

We have to decide which one to use. The one with the bridge is really nice and represents the venue Portland, though we are not sure if the next one is going to be in Portland? And we want to be able to use the banner again at least another 2 times.

The size we’re going for is 2.5’ x 6’ to be placed behind the registrations desk, on the wall i believe.

I think we should go for the outdoor material (difference between outdoor and indoor material is 15oz vs 10oz vinyl respectively). With the expectation that it’ll be more durable to last a couple years at least and flexible to be hung outdoor and withstand the elements, if we need to in future.

Price wise, including a couple accessories like ropes and zip ties;

Outdoor ~USD61
Indoor ~USD53

Not including the delivery cost which is according to delivery speed (processing+shipping) which would be

Economy USD7.99

Standard USD8.99

You can let me know if there is any big issue with the banner design that needs to be rectified. I hope not :D

Action: We need to pick one design then I can put in the order with vistaprint.
