Local LAS Gnome committee meeting

The conference goal is to create a marketing channel for Linux applications.
Task List:
1. Set event and speaker schedule.
a. Lock-down speakers & topics by Friday July 29th.
- Get bios and topics from all confirmed speakers by July 29th.
- Meg: Are any speakers currently tied to specific days/times?
Do any of the speakers need assistance with travel plans?
b. We need suggestions for aspirational names for the overall conference theme
and the daily themes.
- These are tied to the conference goal and to the speaker topics.
c. Sri will invite Meg to the next meeting as advertising and conference schedule are
linked to the speakers and topics.
d. Sri will send Meg the list of additional potential speakers ASAP.
2. Sri will organize the panel discussion - the day and time TBD
The suggested topic is Platform for Plumber Questions

3. Create the initial marketing asset lists.

4. What needs to be printed?
- What needs to be designed?
- How many of each?
5. Sri: set up a walk-through of the venue this week (Wednesday evening?).
- Assess for setup, staging, and wifi. (tables, chairs,backdrops, banners, etc.)
6. Identify list of organizations to contact requesting sponsorship.
$500/$1000 two levels.
7. Contact local hotels and request a discount for speakers and attendees.
8. We will get additional quotes for the wifi to see if the cost can be reduced.
