0.10 has been released. We were cutting a little close to the Ubuntu
freeze and I wanted to get it out of the way. I think the beginning of
the release cycle is the time to make this sort of decision.
Do we have any good testing results for FLAC vs Ogg? It would be nice to
have a list of known issues of both formats. Otherwise they are mostly
equal, although we did decide many moons ago that FLAC should be the
default because of lossless quality.
So if the known issue count for FLAC is zero, then I think we should
switch the default.

Hi!
As release 0.10 are just around the corner, I would like to rise
question about default format. Historically, Jokosher defaulted to Ogg
Vorbis just because other formats didn't have so nice support in
Gstreamer on that time. However, tables have turned and for now, FLAC
has very nice support in Gst and it is loseless format, which is a
must for good recording. In vice versa, Ogg Vorbis has been shaky
support from release to release.
So in result, I suggest to use FLAC as default recording format in
Jokosher. What others say about that?
Cheers,
Peter.
