Hello!

Dear Steve,

Thanks for showing your interest in helping us run a GNOME User group in your area.

I received a Twitter invitation to help build a local user group for Gnome.

I never personally tweeted you for this, did I?
Did you go through the other information provided in the blog-post?
Can someone provide me with some information about this? What does it
entail? How can I help?
You need to tell us more about yourself to make us sure if
you will be able to run a group or not-
  • where are you based
  • your past involvement with GNOME
  • your leadership/social history
  • your capability to train your volunteers and potential contributions
  • what you vision to accomplish (perhaps with a timeline)
  • where do you see your group 5 years from now?
and whatever you think will help us be convinced, you will be a successful GUG Master! We love photos! :)

Thank you and best regards,

Steven Mautone

Dear Steven,

The fact that you're asking the question maybe means the person sending
you the tweet was misinformed?

Seriously I think you should give us more background information related
to your interest in GNOME and running a community in general, or maybe
about the person who contacted you.

You can find more details about running a GNOME User Group on our wiki here:
https://live.gnome.org/UserGroups

but helping creating one maybe doesn't mean you'll be running the group
all by yourself?

So please feel free to tell us more and we'll see how we can help as well.

Thanks a lot.

Fred
