Hi Folks,I requested Speaker Sponsorship a while ago and haven't heard anything yet. Baris told me on IRC that everything will be alright, and I've asked him to send me kind of a confirmation email with details on how to proceed. He didn't yet and didn't respond to my mails.
Based on the comments on IRC and the fact, that I didn't receive any negative answer, I assume that I receive speaker sponsorship. I knew that I had book the flight myself, but my question is, whether I have to book the hotel myself too (and get the refund later on)? Actually I silently assumed, that I don't have to care about the Hotel if I receive sponsorship, especially because I had to estimate flight costs and not hotel costs on applying for sponsorship.
If I have to book the Hotel myself and get the refund later on, is it okay to take any reasonable hotel for the GUADEC time (i.e. not a 5-star hotel and just from monday till sunday)? Are there any other rules to obey?
