I've received few and small bits of feedback about the camping strategy. All of them positive, though. If you have concerns expose them now, otherwise we will start doing the steps towards the bungalow-based GNOME Village. > I'm for promoting the camping as default option and make a group > reservation for about 150 people to negotiate good prices with them. The complexity here is how to make the right reservation. There are too many variables: people not staying all nights, some preferring less price & space (5 in a bungalow), others willing to pay more for more comfort (2 in a bungalow), people alone needing to find others to share... Also we may expect people coming with family & friends not being registered at GUADEC. Being a week away in a place with decent prices, lots of green, swimming pool and the beach nearby, this is a possibility I'm considering myself. This is why I ended up (fully intuitively, no research here) with this idea of accommodation for 150 people as a peak. Or 30 bungalows for 8 nights (from the 23rd to the 30th) which is what really matters to make the reservation. If they are booked soon we can probably go for some more. > I would ask the community to communicate > intentions to come in order to tune this group reservation better. Maybe a post in the GUADEC homepage + Planet + Gnomedesktop + email to the advisory board companies explaining the bungalow-based GNOME Village and asking for accommodation plans and pre-booking with no compromise could help having a better idea? -- Quim Gil - http://desdeamericaconamor.org
