Making a Gtk::Window transparent

Hi,
I am using gtkmm2.10. I want to make a Gtk::Window as transparent. I tried using set_opacity() function to get transparency working. But that function can only be used in gtkmm2.12. plz help me to do this in gtkmm2.10
