Ok, one day later: I've build my own GTK package based on Tor 
Lillqvist's files and the behavoir of the macro issue is the same. 
Though Tor's files are a bit newer I would consider to use the package 
from gladewin32.sf.net. I will now build the files and run a few test 
programs. If everything seems to work I will put them to a place where 
you can get and test (!!) them - at this point I hope Thorsten and 
muppet allow me that.

Btw. @ muppet: I assume all actions on the Windows platfrom are a bit 
experimental, so it's all about testing ;-)
