If I position the mouse over the background area of a window created with gtk-perl, after the [unclutter] timeout, instead of the pointer disappearing, it starts moving up and down as fast as it can.

is this true for the background of any window created with gtk2-perl or just your particular app? e.g., does it happen on the background of the stock browser in gtk-demo? (Gtk2/gtk-demo/main.pl, choose stock browser from the list)

i can't think of anything we do to windows that would cause this. most of the functions in the bindings just pass through to C.
