Printing with gtk-perl

I want to design a GUI which has a canvas containing text, images, and a 
background colour, (all editable by the user) all of which can be saved to 
file and/or printed. I've tried doing this with perl/Tk without much success.
I'd like to know if I can do this with gTk before I get too involved.
