or bug the author to port it to gtk2-perl.  gtk-perl is obsolete and 
not very maintained, and works only with gtk+ 1.x and gnome 1.x, which 
are also obsolete..

gnome-config was used for Gnome 1.x.  it was replaced by pkg-config in 
Gnome 2.x.
