No John, I followed:

$ jhbuild bootstrap
$ jhbuild build python
$ jhbuild build meta-gtk-osx-bootstrap
$ jhbuild build meta-gtk-osx-gtk3
$ jhbuild build meta-gtk-osx-themes

as I wanted to get gtk3.
