FcPattern is part of FontConfig, not Freetype, but yes, I built it today with no Freetype or Fontconfig and no errors. That was on 10.8 with SDK 10.8 and Xcode 4.5.1. I'll try a clean tree tomorrow on 10.6 with SDK 10.5 and Xcode 4.2.

I built on 10.7.5 with Xcode 4.5 and SDK 10.8. I just tried again to
build cairomm from modulesets-unstable. It stops with the same
fontconfig error. Strange.
