looking at sync_menu_shell(), it seems that it does not run
recursively through all submenu's. It only sync's the main menu's, and
not any submenu's (at least I can't find where it does so). Could this
be the probem or do I misunderstand the code?

b.t.w. until now I've been looking at 0.8.6, perhaps I should switch
to the SVN/GIT/CVS version
