Hi Paul,

Thanks for the link. That one was new to me. Seems like goocanvas, libccc and clutter are the main candidates. I don't want to use clutter because I do not want to depend on 3d stuff.

So i agree it seems GooCanvas is the way to go.

some kind of canvas widget is the best way to do this, yes. goocanvas
is one such widget, and its probably the best choice at this point in
time, but there are others.
