GTK + winsock

Dear Folks,

I am looking for some example code
that explains how to couple a GTK GUI
or better a GTK event loop
with a winsock based application.

gdk_input_add expects a file descriptor
however as far as I know winsock has
socket descriptors which are some how
different to file descriptors in the Unix and Linux
world?
