I use the X11 package from Apple (I think I downloaded this from Apple's
website and the X11 development files that came with my Mac (I think
they loaded the XCode installer on my hard drive and that took me a
while to find) and installed gtk from darwinports.org and everything
works fine. I don't believe the X11 development files are available for
download from Apple (at least I could never find it).
