Howto build Gtk 2.4.2

Hello,
I downloaded glib 2.4.2 / gtk+ 2.4.2 / pango 1.4.0
I build glib 2.4.2
When I try to build gtk+ 2.4.2 on my Fedora Core 1 linuxbox
I get the following error:

I need to create the GTK+ library without installing any 2.4.2 version on my
linuxbox.
Is it possible and how ?
What am I missing ?
