NLS and glib?

Hi All,

I am trying to compile glib-2.0.3.  It turns out that I _need_ libintl.h. 
I had built gettext with --disable-nls so I had no libintl.h (unneeded
bloat for me).  Is NLS really really required for glib, or is there a
hackish way to get around it for now?
