set font & disable prelight

1.) where is the default font set? (using glade with c++ to generate
source files)

2.) how do i change font using rc file? (got font to change when
widget->set_name used BEFORE class_support->show_all)

3.) when font changed using item 2 above, text on button would only
appear when cursor over button

4.) how do i disable prelighting?

5.) are there coding examples for the above?

6.) any good documentation(on-line or published)?
