I had thought of this. Actually what I am looking to make is kinda like
an HTML widget. I want to make a MIME richtext widget. MIME richtext
uses markup tags like HTML (<tag>...</tag>) although the tags are
different. Hey what would be neat is to extend GtkMozilla to do MIME
richtext tags too. Interesting idea.
Is GtkMozilla the right thing to use though? Why do I have this aching
feeling that it is huge and full of bloat?

That's what scares me. The sheer size of it! Mind you if the bulk of
the code is in a (shared) library shared with the browser(s) on the same
box, the hit might not be so terrible.

Yeah this is the part that is tempting. :-)
I don't like having to build Mozilla to use it though. Or even moreso,
modifying Mozilla's NGLayout engine to understand the new tags.
