The current story on gtk-- and windows is that there should
be no real barriers, but no one has put serious effort into
getting it going. Most likely it would require cygwin as
VC++ is not really up to snuff. The libsigc++ part has
already got a windows port for VC++ 5.0, so our next versions
will be much more likely, I am still completely
baffered how to get Borland Builder to make a dll, so there
is no hope there. (despite the fact the fact the compiler
itself seems up to the task) When gtk+ 1.4 comes out with integrated
windows and X, is should be a sure thing for at least one of
the windows compilers. gdk-- wraps gdk (too) close, so there
may be problems on the windows version of gdk currently.

Gtk-- 1.1.0 the development series leading up to stable
release is expected any time now, after our long silence
while we cleaned up our code base. Users will hopefully
be quite impressed with the results.
