No matter how interesting this thread is, I don't think we
should continue filling up people's mailboxes with it.

If you want to continue with this thread, please take
it to private email. 

Feel free to summarize to this list when you come
to a decision ;-) Also, if somebody wants to write
up a FAQ entry  on it, that would be appreciated.

But the basic idea is:

 GTK+ was not written in C++ originally.
 At this point, it will not be converted to C++.
