file selection

Isn't there any way to get the dir listing and file listing on an other widget?
I've look at the source and could not find any way that would permit that.
Every function there expects a GtkFileSelection, and I can't seem to be able to
unpack the dir_list and file_list from their containers (since their containers
aint in the fileselection struct).
