Anyone built gtk on SunOS 4.1.4?

Has anyone successfully built gtk on SunOS 4.1.4? I get the
following error (due to having no atexit in libc, no doubt):
(This is gtk+-0.99.7, by the way)

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=".libs:../gdk/.libs:../glib/.libs:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" gcc -g -O2 -DGTK_NO_CHECK_CASTS -Wall -DUSE_XIM -o .libs/testgtk testgtk.o -L/n/gnu/gtk/gtk+-0.99.7/lib -lgtk -L/n/gnu/gtk/gtk+-0.99.7/lib -lgdk -L/n/X/X11R6.3/lib -lXext -lX11 -L/n/X/X11R6.3/lib -lXext -lX11 -L/n/gnu/gtk/gtk+-0.99.7/lib -lglib -lm
collect2: ld returned 2 exit status
ld: Undefined symbol
   _atexit
make[2]: *** [testgtk] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

Can anyone suggest a fix/workaround?

thanks,

 ~!paul
