What libraries are on the Alpha? What OS? Does it work if
the program is displayed on something other than Linux/Sparc?

Does testgtk sigsegv if you press a key _inside_ an entry or
text widget or just outside?

I can see no change between 0.99.3 and 0.99.4 that would cause
key presses to be handled differently... Could something else
on your system have changed?

Does it help to compile with --disable-xim?
