Certain not in _every_ dialog box... I don't see the problem
in GIMP (not recompiled) or in any other application either.

Well, it is something try. Easier, do the entries in testgtk work?
I would suspect that backwards binary compatibility would be
retained at the application level, but I could be wrong.

You're the first person to report it. If recompiling doesn't help
could we have some more information:

What system?
What entries?
