Title: Re: [gtk-i18n-list] Need help
Hi Suzuki,

Thanks for looking into this.

I am trying pango-vew on RHEL version 4.7.
I have installed fonts (using following approach http://vietunicode.sourceforge.net/howto/fontlinux.html).

I just now tried OpenType fonts provided in the link that you sent (I tried, Sidhanta, Chandas, Lohit-Hindi and Lohit-Devanagari) but the issue is still there.

I have following pango modules available:

$ ls -l /usr/lib/pango/1.4.0/modules/
total 196
-rwxr-xr-x  5 root root   976 Mar  2  2005 pango-arabic-fc.la
-rwxr-xr-x  5 root root 10924 Mar  2  2005 pango-arabic-fc.so
-rwxr-xr-x  5 root root   970 Mar  2  2005 pango-basic-fc.la
-rwxr-xr-x  5 root root  6656 Mar  2  2005 pango-basic-fc.so
-rwxr-xr-x  5 root root   944 Mar  2  2005 pango-basic-x.la
-rwxr-xr-x  5 root root 77960 Mar  2  2005 pango-basic-x.so

I found an old discussion that DevanagariMT bundled to older

Pango may not render correct Indic text with TrueType/GX fonts.
There is a free OpenType for Devanagari (see the article in above),
please try to check if your issue is font-specific or library-specific.
