The font that was used and failed to properly space rotated
glyphs was a font coming with X.org:
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/18x18ko.pcf.gz
That font is 680 KB, so if you don't have it I can send it privately.
Its MD5 is 33db27074d3f417023d057b2c7d2d4f0.
Oddly enough, I have a font by the same name with 'ja' instead of
'ko', and I'm pretty certain the glyphs I'm writing are Katakana
rather than Hangul, so I'd have expected a Japanese font to be
used in preference.
Thanks
