The current "stable release" is given as GTK 3.0, which is fine,
but the text concerning "older versions" dates back to the time
when 2.N was current. That is, the only earlier version explicitly
mentioned is 1.2: "Some applications still require GTK+ 1.2...".
It should probably be mentioned that _most_ GTK applications still
require version 2.
