FYI: Widgets do not overlap in any containers in gtk+ (I've heard
that there is z-ordering in gnomecanvas... you might want to check
that out).

You can:
    - Draw the frame yourself in the GtkFixed and place
      a child label where the frames label would be
    - Add a fixed as the child widget of the frame (probably
      what you want anyway).
