Just a thought ... but maybe there is some way we can make GLib's
Makefile.in.in ready-for-intltool.
If I was writing intltool today, I would probably try to make the tools
argument compatible with the GNU gettext tools. That way the "patching"
process could be confined to redefining some AC_SUBST's in configure.in.
I don't know if doing that is feasible now or not though.
Or alternatively, intltool should install it's own po/Makefile.in.in.
This patching thing is just incredibly non-robust.
Agreed. At the moment, my main aim has been to make sure it doesn't
hold up build tool updates for other packages. It is probably worth
revisiting this at a later time though.
