Hello,
I'd like to be able to open files in an already running
instance of my app -- like gimp-remote or mozilla -remote
does. Could someone point me to some documentation or a
implementation how to do it Right?
I've looked at gimp-remote, but it says ``Dont even think
about doing this in your own newly created application.'',
so I don't even think about it ;-)
I need it to
- work on both X and Win32, perhpas using different
mechanisms if necessary
- on X, it should be probably machine-bound instead of
DISPLAY-bound, as the app won't open files from some
random remote host (it's bad enough this confuses DnD)
TIA,
Yeti
